The ceremony is at 10:30am, but please be there by 10am at the latest. The ship is ours for only one hour. And seeing as how there will be a pirate ship wedding right after ours, they will be prompt with the times. Treasure Island is booked the whole day with pirate ship weddings. Ours is most likely the first of the day.
The ceremony takes place on the HMS Britannia, the ship that does not sink during "The Sirens" nightly show. Only the couple and two other guests are allowed on the ship, everyone else watches on a balcony next to the ship. And apparently, the “ring bearer” is a pirate that slides down on a rope? One can only hope!
Jackie did a lot of internet searching for Vegas weddings, and the Pirate ship at Treasure Island wedding seemed to have a lot of things she was looking for: it’s funny, interesting, not in a chapel, and a little weird…after all, it’s a pirate ship in a little pond, in the desert.
Here are photos of a pirate ship wedding!
Group 1 -
Group 2
Right after the ceremony, we are assuming that there will be photos taken. After that, we all can go up to the suite we have at Treasure Island. We all can hang out for a few minutes, maybe have a little snack, and then we can go out and have a lovely lunch.
Update
Looks like the after ceremony lunchy will be at Zeffirino in The Venetian. They were open, and available for the time required.
After lunch, I don't know. Maybe ride the gondolas in The Venetian. Maybe we all can retreat to our rooms for a little after wedding nap, for that night we can all go out to the many, many clubs in vegas. Although, looking at the cover prices, maybe we will only hit a couple of clubs.
William "Craig" Crouse is the Son of William Henry Crouse and Dorothy May Crouse. Growing up in Independence, VA a small mountain town in the Appalachian mountains he was a weird kid who read fantasy and sci fi books, pretended to be a magical warrior while climbing trees and rocks, while still being in the library practically everyday. Also bitten by the bug of art and music at an early age, his uncle taught him to play guitar and he started kayaking with a local teacher who was a tremendous mentor.
During high school his interests turned more into Art and performance and he spent a great deal of time with his local Drama club, while still kayaking and exploring physical art medias. He still practically lived at the library after school, much like he did when he was growing up. Inspired to possibly go to college in Asheville, NC and study "Outdoor Education" money and other concerns caused him to join the US Army. Initially employed as a 96b "Intelligence analyst" mysterious circumstances (fate) caused him to need to change modes of service, then he became a 25m "Multimedia Designer"...
After training in traditional media he moved on to the most inspiring means of expression he had ever discovered computer arts. After serving in South Korea for an eventful, eye opening, year; he returned to the US and served at the Pentagon in a busy Multimedia shop, with a civilian supervisor who nurtured his interest in all aspects of 3D, Audio, and Video arts. Now combining his constant interest in all things mystical with technology he became what most people know him as now, the archetypal Techno-Mystic composing audio under various guises and constantly seeking to push the limits of transcendent art using all forms of media available.
Currently Craig's day job is the assistant supervisor in the Security Operations center of a large corporation. His future plans include obtaining a degree in Interactive Design or Digital Audio so that he can apply his passions as his mode of employ. When he's not working he produces music as Glassknife, Failed Utopia, and a new Audio/Visual project Metaphreaq, in which he explores creating visual art from generative (code) sources to accompany explorations in dance music.
Jacqueline Munoz is the daughter of Jose and Aida Munoz. Born in Rhode Island, but grew up in the cultural hot zone known as Waterford, CT. She was always kind of a creative kid, drawing or scribbling on books or papers she shouldn't have. She played the flute in the school band, and took a bunch of tap and jazz dance classes.
Eventually the 80s turned into the 90’s, and she went from Elementary school to Jr. High School, and then to High School. In high school she was really into the Audio Video Club (yeah, that’s right, it’s cool) doing video editing. Then in late ’94, she and her family moved from Waterford, CT to Fairfax, VA. It took a while to adjust after the move, a long while. She didn't deal much with the flute, or dance classes, her main focus was Video Production. Her senior year of high school involved spending four periods in one long video class everyday. Graduating High School in ’96, she stayed home for a year and then moved to Baltimore, MD to go to school for Video Production, finishing school in ’99.
After that, things changed from video to web design, she got her hands on a computer of her own, and spent some serious time working on web design. Looking at other websites, playing around in Photoshop, and teaching herself all she could. Then she started working at the super-cool place called The Canton Group as a web designer. Its pretty much been web design ever since. She did do some freelancing that involved more print graphic design, which is a refreshing change, but it is looking like web design for a while.

We have an 8 year old female cat, her name is Possum, because her colors are kind of like a possum's colors. She is a fat kitty, weighing in at 16 lbs, and even though she eats weight management cat food, she is still a fat thing. We have not had her for long, she used to belong to someone else for most of her life. It took her a while to get used to her new family, but now we all love each other.
With her being so fat, she is also a sweetie pie. She is cuddly and huggable. She loves to sleep, scratch on her cardboard scratch circle, lick up the shower water from the bathtub, sit in the blue plastic chair in the house, and lick Craig's hair when he's trying to sleep.
Unfortunately she will not be attending the wedding, as much as we wish she could, and sure people fly their pets around...we both know that it would still be difficult to travel with her, also finding a hotel that would allow pets would take a little but of work, and we are sure that we will be busy enough.

To get to Vegas, all you need to do it simply hop on a plane and fly into Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (LAS), and from there take a cab to your hotel. Its very easy to get cabs in Vegas and renting almost car isn't necessary.
We will be getting a Tower Suite in Treasure Island , which is located about mid-strip. Feel free to stay in whatever hotel you want, there is a gigantic hotel selection in Vegas, all with wide ranging prices. Biggest selection ever.
"Downtown" Vegas is generally cheaper than the big hotels on the strip, but it's also further away from the strip, which means cab or bus rides to make it up to the strip.
The Average temperatures in Las Vegas:
February - 61° high to 37° low
March - 70° high to 43° low.

Here is a Map of the casinos
But that is just the short list of places to stay.
Here is a more in depth list.
Why Vegas?
Simple answer, Why not? It’s the wedding capital of the world, it's funny, it's not at home, its electric, and it will be fun.
Much internet research was done on the pre-planning and pretty much all of the casino wedding packages include most of the worries/concerns that people deal with when planning a wedding: photographer, flowers, officiant, makeup, blah blah blah. Wanting a wedding but not wanting to deal with any of that, well a Vegas wedding seemed to be the way to go. But any package that required the "traditional" wedding song was not cool.
But then wanting to get married in Vegas and not wanting a chapel is quite a hunt. Every hotel/casino has a chapel, but it just seems like see one casino chapel, see them all…?
The off-strip themed chapels came across as rather cheesy and cheap feeling. An Elvis wedding was not going to happen, and even though a Drive-Though chapel is very funny, it’s not much of an event.
Why on a Pirate Ship in Vegas?
Id have to say that the Wedding on a Pirate ship in Vegas was my (Jackie) dorky idea. I’ve always liked the idea of getting married in Vegas, sure it’s not an original destination, but it’s still something other than having the ceremony at home. I searched Vegas casinos for any wedding packages that did not involve a chapel, and when I saw that Treasure Island has a ship wedding, I was thrilled. For the right price, I could get married on a pirate ship in the Nevada desert? Sign me up! The entire concept seemed hilarious, and I want my wedding to be funny.
I was very disappointed that The Luxor does not have a classy Egyptian Themed wedding, for if they did thats where the wedding would be. Excalibur has a themed wedding of sorts, but takes place in the casino chapel. Paris has weddings on the Eiffel Tower, but weddings in Paris are too lovey-dovey. The other major casinos dont really have weddings to match the theme of the casino, except for Treasure Island.
Except for Treasure Island. Enchantment wedding.
Why on February 29th, leap year day?
Because February 29th is the coolest date to ever happen in the history of the recorded calendar. Its great that it’s every 4 years,It's s not in June, or Valentines Day. And its funny that if we are married 40 years, we will have had 10 anniversaries.
When will you celebrate you anniversary next year?
February 28th.
Why at 10:30 in the morning?
Can you believe that the pirate ship was booked for every other time, except 10:30am that day? By the time I called them (late Nov) they were packed, and 10:30am was the only time left for their ship weddings. I was not thrilled about having it so early, I hate getting up early, but better have it in the morning than not at all.
Will everyone be able to go on the pirate ship?
Sorry but no. Treasure Island only allows two other people besides the bride and groom the ship. Everyone else can view from the patio next to the ship.
I've been to Vegas and I have a good idea of where to go to after the Ceremony.
Than feel free to let me know. Going to The Venetian for lunch right afterwards is probably best since we will not have to get cabs, just walk across the street. But after that, we are open to suggestions.
Will you be going on a Honeymoon?
Nope, We are pretty much blowing the wad on this wedding, with not a lot of money left for a honeymoon afterwards. Besides, with the wedding being in Vegas and not Baltimore, its already kind of a vacation just getting married.
Will there be a bachelor / bachelorette party?
Looks like it. Since the ceremony is so early on Friday morning, the party will NOT be the night before. Instead it will be on Wednesday the 27th. Both party's will happen at the same time, and the same place. The idea of duel bachelor / bachelorette party's are fun, and easier.
We are planning on going to Cheetah's in Las Vegas. That is where the infamous Naomi danced at in "Showgirls" before she got her break-out in Goddess at the Stardust. Since The Stardust is now history, going to Cheetah’s is the next best thing.
I want to go, but Im broke. Can you pay my way?
Sorry but no can do. We understand that not many people will be able to make the trip, since Vegas is so far away. So if you cant make it, thats fine.
Im ganna be going, yay...do I have to dress like a pirate?
No you dont. We arnt even going to be dressed like pirates, so the guests are not required to dress like a pirate either.
You sent me an invitation, can I bring someone along?
Sure, one other person is cool, if I didnt put their name on the invitation.
